EMBASSY GLYNDWR LETTER TO ALUN CAIRNS INFORMING RENAMING OF SEVERN BRIDGE AS PONT OWAIN IV OWAIN GLYNDWR

Dear Mr Cairns,

I would like to inform you that there is no longer any need for you to spend a great deal of tax payer's hard earned money on a lavish ceremony to rename Pont Hafren - the Severn Bridge as the 'Prince of Wales' bridge in honour of Charles Windsor, as Embassy Glyndŵr has already visited the bridge in question on Saturday the 12th May and renamed it Pont Owain Glyndŵr which is more in line with the choice that the people of Cymru would make if there is going to be a name change at all. Please see attached picture of Pont Owain Glyndŵr.

I will, of course be notifying Carwyn Jones and all members of the Welsh Assembly of the name change and we hope that both yourself and they will recognise and honour the change as 'the people's choice' and will now scrap what would have been a very extravagant and expensive plan of yours - and I'm confident that people on both sides of the bridge would rather see that money put to better use such as training nursing staff for our decaying NHS.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that we are still awaiting a reply to my correspondence of the 2nd May in which I asked a number of questions relating to correspondence between yourself and the Welsh Assembly in regards to your plans to rename the bridge. I, again, request answers to the questions poised in the aforementioned correspondence.

Lastly, I am now informing you that Embassy Glyndŵr will he hosting a gathering outside the Colonial Welsh Office at 2pm on the 28th of this month where Speakers and others - possibly thousands, will be voicing their anger' at your plan to rename the bridge in honour of Charles Windsor. Should you now scrap your 'mad' plan, please do inform us before the intended gathering and we will gladly call it off.

Sincerely

Sian Ifan

C.E.O. Llysgenhadaeth/Embassy Glyndŵr.
